February 8, 2011 - The December 16, 2007 FastForward Radio nanotechnology broadcast when she was still President of the Foresight Nanotech Institute was rebroadcast. This is her third radio appearance on FastForward Radio speaking about nanotechnology.

February 9, 2011 - Dr. Pearl Chin will be attending the 250+ invitation only participants at the Landmark Ventures Life Sciences Summit 2011 being hosted at the New York Academy of Sciences in New York City.

February 6, 2011 - Dr. Pearl Chin participated in "The Future of Nanotech", part of the invitation-only brainstorming salon series co-sponsored by Science House and The Hybrid Reality Institute in New York City.

Spring 2010, Spring 2011 - Dr. Pearl Chin is an adjunct professor at City University of New York at Baruch teaching the undergraduate and graduate Capstone public affairs classes focusing on social enterprise.

January 2011 - Dr. Pearl Chin starts 2011 with Episcopal Relief & Development as Board Treasurer.

January 2011 - Seraphima Consulting is working with Dunn & Johnston on some small non-nanotech projects after completing  consulting projects with New Oak Capital in 2010 so please check out their website as part of the marketing consulting project.

January 2011 - Launch of Seraphima Consulting, management consulting services for existing and startup companies as well as for nonprofits. Generally we work with organizations that have to be very efficient with limited resources to be more strategic and efficient with resources allocation and the business overall.  We also work with training entrepreneurs on how to startup their businesses. We've been doing this for some time now as part of services with Seraphima Ventures.

January 2011 - Launch of Seraphima Academy, a New York City based tutoring company focusing on math and science to develop the next generation of nanotechnologists.  Our kids are woefully behind on basic science and math so how will we compete on the global scale?  We aim to help bridge that education gap.

February 18, 2010 - Dr. Pearl Chin was invited closing keynote speaker on "Nanotechnology and Sustainability Trends after Economic Crisis" at the Rice University's Rice Alliance for Technology and Innovation's Nanotechnology Sustainability and Venture Forum in Houston, TX.

February 2010 - Dr. Pearl Chin joins Episcopal Relief & Development in South Africa for board meetings and to observe programs.

January 24, 2010 - Dr. Pearl Chin gave a talk on "Ethics in Science" at Trinity Wall Street Church in New York City for their Discovery lecture series.

January 2010 - Dr. Pearl Chin joins the Board of Episcopal Relief and Development.

August 2009 - Dr. Pearl Chin joins University of Delaware, College of Engineering's Industry Advisory Group.

April 2009 - Dr Pearl Chin joins Industry Advisory Group as friends of Cornell Center for Technology Enterprise and Commercialization (CCTEC).

January 8-9, 2009 - Dr. Pearl Chin was an invited panelist at the Global Forum on Intellectual Property 2009 in Singapore speaking about IP valuation.  Major sponsors include the Singapore government, Deloitte & Touche, PWC, Singapore Airlines.

Winter 2008 - Dr. Pearl Chin is featured in an interview in her alma mater's alumni magazine, At Cooper Union, where she received her Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering.

August 5-6, 2008 - Dr. Pearl Chin gave a talk on "Commercialization Barriers to Nanotechnology" and was on the "Commercializing Nanotechnology Innovation" lunch discussion panel at the Nanotechnology and the Environment conference at Purdue University.

May 18, 2008 - Dr. Pearl Chin was featured on a FastForward Radio broadcast  broadcast with a Foresight Nanotech Institute panel to discuss the Productive Nanosystems Technology Roadmap as former President and currently Research Fellow for the Foresight Nanotech Institute.

January 2008 - Dr. Pearl Chin stepped down as President of the Foresight Nanotech Institute but remains a Research Fellow with Foresight.

December 16, 2007 - Dr. Pearl Chin is interviewed about nanotechnology on FastForward Radio broadcast.

November 3-4, 2007 - Foresight Nanotech Institute's Vision Weekend will be held at Yahoo! headquarters in Palo Alto, CA.

October 26, 2007 - Dr. Pearl Chin gave a keynote dinner lecture at the nanoUtah07 conference in Salt Lake City, UT.

October 9-10, 2007 - Dr. Pearl Chin moderated a panel from Motorola and IBM on near, long and visionary term applications of nanotechnology at the joint Conference sponsored by Foresight Nanotech Institute and Society of Manufacturing Engineers on Productive Nanosystems: Launching the Technology Roadmap Conference in Arlington, Virginia, where we officially introduced the finished Productive Nanosystems Technology Roadmap, of which she was both a Steering Committee and Project Management Team member.

October 5, 2007 - Dr. Pearl Chin met with a Russian delegation visiting from the International Visitor Leadership Program of the U.S. Department of State during their 2 week visit to the U.S. to study "Innovation and the Market Place: Bridging the Gap Between Scientific Discovery and Profitable Applications".

October 3, 2007 - Dr. Pearl Chin participated as a panel member speaking about business plans to students at her alma mater, The Cooper Union, at their very first student Cooper Union Venture Network panel speakers series meeting.

August 15, 2007 - Dr. Pearl Chin participated in an invitation-only focus group in Boston to speak about barriers to commercialization of nanotechnology for a report to be done by the U.S. Department of Commerce for submission to Congress in September for public policy recommendations regarding how the U.S. government can facilitate nanotechnology benefits to the American public.

June 4, 2007 - Dr. Pearl Chin was appointed President of the Foresight Nanotech Institute.  The Foresight Nanotech Institute was founded in 1986 and is the leading nanotechnology think tank in the U.S.

Febuary 22, 2007 - Dr. Pearl Chin presented at "For a Discussion on the Outlook for Nanobiotechnology in 2007" at the launch of the Nanotechnology and Business Forum at Greenberg Traurig in Boston, MA.

Febuary 7, 2007 - Dr. Charles Brumlik, Esq., will be speaking on "Current Trends in Nanotechnology Investment and Technical Partnering" at the Nano2007 Conference in Montréal, Canada.

January 19, 2007 - Dr. Pearl Chin is starting again as monthly contributing guest writer on Nanotech Investing for Nanotechnology Now.  Check out her first article on "Nanotech Going "Public". June 2006 - The interview with Dr. Pearl Chin on the state of nanotechnology, "Nanotech: not just for Star Wars anymore" is on page 13 of Cornell Enterprise magazine Spring 2006.

April 1, 2006 - Seraphima Ventures has moved its New York office.  Please note the change of address to Park Avenue on our website.

March 15, 2006 - Dr. Pearl Chin was interviewed for InvestorIdeas.com for her views on green and clean technology for an article on valuing clean nanotechnology investments, "Nanotechnology, Valuing Clean Nanotechnology is No Small Matter."

Feb 2006 - Dr. Pearl Chin was interviewed for an article on nanotechnology for Cornell Enterprise magazine.  The issue is due out this Spring.  Cornell University has 4 federally funded nanotechnology R&D centers, the most federally funded nanotechnology centers in the U.S.

January 31, 2006 - President Bush mentions in his State of the Union address the need to support and fund nanotechnology. PDF File

December 29, 2005 - Seraphima Ventures opens its Athens office.

November 21, 2005 - Charles Brumlik, PhD, JD is organizing and speaking at the New Jersey Greater Garden State Nanotechnology Alliance's "Commercializing Nanotechnology in Energy Storage and Conversion". Dr. Brumlik spent 6 years with ExxonMobil.

October 27, 2005 - Dr. Pearl Chin enters into a formal arrangement with Singapore's Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (IBN) to help them commercialize their technologies.

October 4, 2005 - Dr. Pearl Chin joins the Board of Directors of Biophage Pharma (TSX-BUG), a Canadian biotech firm focusing on phage therapy.

September 12, 2005 - Professor Morinobu Endo, a discoverer of carbon nanotubes joins our Advisory Board.  He was recently profiled in Small Times in August 2005.

August 16, 2005 - Professor Roald Hoffmann, 1981 Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry joins Seraphima's Advisory Board making Seraphima the only firm with two Nobel Prize winners on its Board.

July 6, 2005 - Dr. Pearl Chin was profiled in Business Week Online,"Nanotech's Multidisciplinary Challenge".

May 12, 2005 - Prof. Jackie Ying becomes the youngest elected member of Germany's Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina, the world's oldest natural sciences academy.  Click here for the press release.

April 18, 2005 – Dr. Nick Bateman spoke at the Spring 2005 meeting of the American Physical Society on a panel about alternative careers for physicists.

March 2005 - Professor Yuan Tseh Lee, a 1986 Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry joins our Advisory Board.

Feb 2005 - Article "Accessing Venture Capital Returns for Efficient Investing in Nanotechnology" authored by Dr. Pearl Chin is published in the Nanotechnology Law & Business journal, Vol. 2 Issue 1.  The same article then also appears in AltAssets, a European private equity e-newsletter put out by Almeida Capital which is backed by the Bank of Scotland.

December 2004 - The Nanoscale Science, Engineering, and Technology (NSET) Subcommittee of the National Science and Technology Council's Committee on Technology has released its 2004 Strategic Plan for the Federal R&D program in nanotechnology. This report, which was developed with the support of the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office, updates the original strategic plan of the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) for the next 5 to 10 years. The document contains the vision, goals and plans for specific activities by which the goals will be accomplished by the 22 agencies participating in the NNI. The budget for these activities was about $1 billion in 2004.

December 17, 2004 - Seraphima Ventures welcomes Prof. Mark Welland, Director of the Nanoscale Science Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, England.

October 27, 2004 – Seraphima Ventures launches Boston Nanotechnology Business Forum as featured speaker with Professor Robert Westervelt, Director of the Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center at Harvard University.  Strategic partners are Seraphima Ventures, Merrill Lynch, British Consulate, Harvard nanotech centers, etc.  The forum is organized by Greenberg Traurig.

May 26, 2004 – Dr. Pearl Chin was featured as a speaker on a panel discussing “Investing in Nanotechnology” in Charlotte, NC sponsored by Alston & Bird for the NCEITAS (North Carolina Electronics and Information Technologies Association)’s Tech Revolutions 2004 conference.
